Two Iranian Frigates To Take Part In Russia’s Navy Day Parade

TEHRAN, Jul 30 (NNN-TASNIM) – Two Iranian frigates will take part in a naval parade, scheduled for today, in Russia’s St. Petersburg, to mark the country’s Navy Day.

The missile-launching Kaman-class frigates, which belong to the Iranian Navy’s Northern Fleet, based in the Caspian Sea, have set out for the Russian city, as Navy Commander, Shahram Irani arrived in the country to attend the parade, the report said.

Irani is slated to meet a number of other countries’ navy commanders, who will also take part in the parade, it added.

The naval parade will be staged in the presence of Russian President, Vladimir Putin, according to the report.

Russia marks its Navy Day, by staging a parade of ships on the last Sunday of July, on the Neva River in St. Petersburg, and the Port of Kronstadt.

Last year, more than 40 ships, boats and submarines, as well as, 42 aircraft and over 3,500 military personnel took part in the parade.– NNN-TASNIM
