Eight Injured As Blast Hit Vehicle In NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (NNN-APP) – Eight people were injured, when a blast hit a vehicle of the paramilitary troops Frontier Corps, in Pakistan’s north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, yesterday afternoon, rescue teams and police said.

The vehicle was passing by a densely populated area in the provincial capital of Peshawar, when it was attacked, a non-government rescue organisation, Edhi Foundation, said.

Revealing initial investigation, police sources, who cordoned off the site, following the explosion, said that, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the vehicle, injuring the troops and passersby.

However, the police did not officially confirm the nature of the attack yet.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital, where two of them are in critical condition, the state-run Rescue 1122 said, in a statement.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, said police.– NNN-APP
