LIMA, July 18 (NNN-ANDINA) — The Ministry of Interior (Mininter), through the Special Project for Control and Reduction of Illegal Crops in Alto Huallaga (Corah), has eradicated 9,185.03 ha of illegal coca crops so far in 2023.

According to the government agency, the operations —carried out in 5,022 plots across the regions of Ucayali, San Martin, Huanuco and Pasco— have prevented the production of 75.55 tons of cocaine hydrochloride.

Eradication activities are being implemented across the districts of Calleria and Masisea, in the province of Coronel Portillo (Ucayali region); Codo de Pozuzo, Puerto Inca, and Yuyapichis, in the province of Puerto Inca (Huanuco region); Constitucion, in the province of Oxapampa (Pasco region); as well as Tocache and Polvora, in the province of Tocache (San Martin region).

As reported by Mininter, five clandestine rustic laboratories used for the production of cocaine drugs were identified and destroyed as a result of the hard work.

These actions are part of the strategy undertaken by said ministry to combat illicit drug trafficking and the criminal organizations that engage in it. — NNN-ANDINA
