Kuwait, Korea Vow To Strengthen Ties, Cooperation

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait, May 2 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait and the Republic of Korea (ROK), vowed to strengthen bilateral ties and boost cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting with his visiting ROK counterpart, Lee Nak-yeon, Kuwaiti Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, expressed content at the development of bilateral relations in recent years.

He stressed the two countries’ keenness to enhance prospects of cooperation in the fields of health, transportation, housing, energy and smart technology.

Sheikh Jaber noted that, ROK companies are important partners of Kuwait, adding, the volume of trade exchange hit 14 billion U.S. dollars this year.

He welcomed the agreement of the ROK authorities to approve direct flight between the two countries and the establishment of a Kuwaiti-ROK committee on Kuwait 2035 vision.

After the meeting, the two sides signed several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding, in the fields of culture, investment, health, customs and security.– NNN-KUNA
