One Killed, Two Critically Injured After Multi-Vehicle Crash In Sydney

SYDNEY, Jul 13 (NNN-AAP) – Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW), today appealed for dashcam footage, after a six-vehicle crash killed one and critically injured two in Sydney’s north-west.

At about 1:30 p.m. local time today, emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle pile-up, at the intersection of Blaxland Road and First Avenue, Eastwood, which involved a Mitsubishi SUV, a Holden Commodore, a Kia SUV, a Toyota sedan, an Audi hatchback, and a van.

A 61-year-old female passenger of the Holden died at the scene, while out of the same car, a 67-year-old female driver and a 63-year-old female passenger were sent to hospitals with critical injuries.

A 31-year-old man behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi was treated for a head injury and in stable condition, with other drivers uninjured. Both Mitsubishi and Holden cars have been seized to undergo forensic examination.

“Police established a crime scene which was examined by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit,” said NSW Police Force, adding that, an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This is the second six-car accident reported in Sydney this week. On Tuesday, a collision at Strathfield in Sydney’s inner west injured five people, and a 22-year-old man was arrested.– NNN-AAP
