JAKARTA, Jul 6 (NNN-ANTARA) – A flash flood killed one person and injured two others, in the Indonesian province of South Sumatra, the province’s disaster mitigation agency said, yesterday.
Head of the emergency department, at South Sumatra Disaster Mitigation Agency, Ansori, told local media that, the three victims living in a house near a river were swept away in the flash flood that occurred in the district of South Ogan Komering Ulu on Tuesday.
The flash flood has affected at least 125 locals, and destroyed two houses and two bridges, and inundated 55 houses, he added.
“Victims impacted by the flood chose to seek refuge in neighbouring houses, instead of the tents we are preparing. Foods and medicines are being readied for them,” Ansori said.– NNN-ANTARA
