LIMA, June 28 (NNN-ANDINA) — Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Mathews on Tuesday highlighted that ExpoAmazonica Tingo Maria 2023 will connect 104 regional businesses with buyers from all over the world.
Thus, the above-mentioned trade show will contribute to the development of the Amazon region.
“30 buyers from five continents will be brought in to seek agreements with 104 local companies on coffee, cacao, wood manufacture, camu camu, and sacha inchi,” the minister said at the launch of the event.
The government official emphasized that, across all 10 editions, ExpoAmazonica has opened up great possibilities in the area of exports.
“The Amazon has exported nearly US$900 million, but this is clearly insufficient as it has an extraordinary potential to develop, so this type of trade shows contributes to changing this situation in its favor,“ he explained.
On the tourism side, Mathews underlined that ExpoAmazonica Tingo Maria 2023 will gather 20 tour operators to seek agreements with 50 operators from the Amazon forest regions.
“Domestic tourism has been growing. Last year, 27 million trips were made, while this year’s total exceeds 34 million trips across the country,” the Cabinet member remarked.
“We hope the jungle will be one of the regions contributing to this growth for the country,” he added. — NNN-ANDINA
