Two dead and one missing due to weather condition in Chile

SANTIAGO, June 26 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Two people died and one is missing as a result of the weather system that hit the center-south of Chile, where floods, damage to homes and road closures are reported.

In Santiago, a woman died when a large tree fell on the vehicle she was driving in the municipality of Peñalolen. Meanwhile, in the city of Concepcion, capital of the Bio Bio Region, a man was crushed in similar circumstances.

Humberto Aqueveque, presidential delegate in the Maule Region, reported that of the three people reported missing, two were located and are out of danger.

They are a fireman who fell into a swollen river while participating in a rescue and a worker at a water treatment plant.

Of the third, an elderly man, there is still no news as to his condition.

In that region, Route 5 South was completely paralyzed when a bridge over the Lircay River broke in two due to the force of the water flow. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
