Border Guards Smashed Armed Terrorists In SE Iran

TEHRAN, Jun 19 (NNN-MNA) – Iran’s border guards, smashed a group of armed terrorists in the south-eastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, yesterday.

The terrorists sought to enter Iran through its south-eastern border, but were ambushed by the Iranian border guards, Reza Shojaei, commander of Sistan and Baluchestan’s border police, was quoted as saying, without detailing their affiliation.

One terrorist was killed and a number of them were injured in the operation, that involved an exchange of fire between the two sides, he said.

Shojaei noted that, an Iranian border guard was also injured in the clashes and was immediately transferred to a medical centre.

Bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province has been a target of several terrorist attacks, on both civilians and security forces over the past years.– NNN-MNA
