Watermelon festival held in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Jun 18 (NNN-XINHUA) – The 2023 California Watermelon Festival is taking place here over the weekend, featuring free watermelons, live entertainment, carnival rides and other activities for families.

During the two-day event, organisers distributed over 100,000 pounds (about 45,360 kg) of watermelons to visitors, as hundreds of people gather to taste watermelons and delicious food, and participate in watermelon-themed contests. The festival also featured a marketplace, hosting a diverse range of art and craft exhibitors.

Glenn Harvey, a local artist, who specialises in balloon twisting and decorating, made hundreds of balloon sculptures for visitors during the festival.– NNN-XINHUA
