Bangladesh’s special force cordones off building believed to be militant hideout

DHAKA, April 29 (NNN-BSS) — Bangladesh’s Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today cordoned off a tin-shed building in the Bosila Metro Housing Project area of Mohammadpur here suspecting it to be a militant hideout.

“A team of RAB-2 surrounded the house in Bosila Metro Housing Project in
city’s Mohammadpur area at about 3:30 am responding to a secret information about the presence of suspected militants there,” RAB’S Legal and Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan told Bangladesh’s national news agency BSS this morning.

RAB’s specialised team, including bomb disposal unit and dog squad, in the
meantime rushed to the spot, he said.

RAB has already detained two caretakers of the housing for interrogation.

“They are preparing to conduct the drive inside the house within very
shortest possible time,” said another RAB official present at the spot.
