HAVANA, June 10 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The delegations of the Government of the Republic of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN) ended the third cycle of the Peace Dialogues Table taking place in Havana.
The ceremony, initially scheduled for Thursday, had to be postponed in order to finalize details of the agreements and their respective protocols, according to the joint statement number 10 of the parties.
The negotiating body requested one more day from the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and the First Commander of the ELN, Antonio García.
Petro announced that he would travel to Cuba in order to participate in the closure of the third cycle of negotiations between his government and the National Liberation Army.
The President declared that an important event in the history of Colombia will take place in Cuba. “I am going to sign a document that can mean the beginning without retreat of an era of peace for this country,” said the head of state.
