LIMA, June 10 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte stressed that Peru had reversed, at the end of 2023’s first quarter, the downward economic trend registered at the beginning of this year.
She said that these indicators, registered last March, reverse the downward trend observed between January and February 2023.
This contributes to affirming that Peru will be one of the countries with the highest growth and lowest inflation in Latin America this year, Boluarte noted during the presentation of the report on her administration’s performance over six months in office.
“Last March, it registered positive figures, reversing the downward trend of January and February. This year, Peru will be one of the countries with the highest growth and the lowest inflation in Latin America,“ she expressed.
“We owe ourselves to Peru, to the 33 million Peruvians, to the poorest (citizens),” Boluarte said.
Within this framework, she recalled that Peru’s people “had always managed to overcome their worst crises,” since they are “people who have stood up and walked again.“
“We have preserved the democratic order and the rule of law, providing calm and tranquility to the country,” she said.
The Head of State affirmed that from the government “we (Executive Branch officials) continue to reach out to our sisters and brothers from Puno to work together for their progress and development.”
“Enough of polarization and of fighting one another,” she also said in her speech.
In this sense, when recounting the progress made by the Defense Ministry at this time, the top official stressed that order has been restored in the aforementioned jurisdiction.
Similarly, President Boluarte affirmed that 90% of economic activities there have returned to normal.
This implies the rehabilitation of international roads and bridges “for the benefit of the entire population,” she expressed. — NNN-ANDINA
