TEHRAN, Iran, April 28 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran exported detergents, cleansers, hygienic and cellulose products, worth 200 million U.S. dollars in the last Iranian year, ending on March 20, Eghtesadonline news website reported.
“Hygiene and related products account for five percent of the added value generated by Iran’s industries,” Mohsen Salehinia, Iran’s deputy minister of Industries, Mining and Trade, was quoted as saying.
The figures are expected to increase to 300 million dollars in the current year, Salehinia added.
Bakhtiyar Alambeigi, head of the Association of Iran Hygiene and Toiletries Industries, said, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and several European countries and Gulf states are the main importers of these products.
According to the report, domestic consumption of such products stands at 1.3 billion dollars annually.– NNN-IRNA
