The cost of living has has gone up in Nigeria with fuel prices rising
ABUJA, June 8 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The governments of two Nigerian states; Edo and Kwara have reduced the five working days to three for government employees.
This move is to help cushion employees in shouldering their transport fares and the amount of fuel they need to buy to fill their cars due to the hike in prices of fuel.
Government and private employees in other states are, however, worried and confused about enjoying the same opportunity as there is no end to increased petrol costs in sight following the federal government’s announcement on cancelling fuel subsidies.
Nigeria, in the last couple of months, has experienced incessant increments in transport fares due to the hike in fuel prices.
According to a report, the Nigerian government has set up a team to evaluate agreements reached with organised labour on how to reduce the impact of rising costs. — NNN-AGENCIES
