JAKARTA, May 31 (NNN-ANTARA) – The Indonesia Carbon Capture and Storage Centre (ICCSC) was established yesterday, with hopes to help push the country’s agenda to become a regional hub for carbon capture storage (CCS) solution.
Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said, the ICCSC would become a new way of developing low-carbon businesses in the future, including in the development of hydrogen, blue and green ammonia, and blue and green methanol.
He hoped that, the ICCSC would be a new organisation that would accelerate the country’s energy transition agenda.
Indonesia pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 31.89 percent on its own, or by 43.2 percent with international help by 2030.– NNN-ANTARA
