NEW DELHI, May 27 (NNN-PTI) – India’s crisis-hit private airline, Go First, yesterday announced that, all its flights will remain suspended until tomorrow, said the airline in a statement.
A refund in full amount would be made shortly, according to the statement.
Go First had already applied for immediate resolution and revival of operations.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India’s civil aviation watchdog, issued a show cause notice, after the airline suddenly cancelled scheduled flights for three days, starting May 3. Since then, the airline has been extending the flight cancellations.
The airline’s new cancellation announcement comes, a day after the DGCA asked it to submit a comprehensive plan for the revival of its operations, including details about the availability of operational planes and pilots, within 30 days.
Go First, owned by the Wadia Group, has filed for voluntary insolvency proceedings, with the National Company Law Tribunal, blaming U.S.-based engine manufacturer, Pratt & Whitney (P&W) for its financial problems.– NNN-PTI
