Fire At Landmark Post Office Injured Four In Philippines

MANILA, May 22 (NNN-PNA) – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said today that, the fire, razing a century-old landmark building in the Philippine capital Manila, injured four people and was “under control.”

The bureau said, the fire erupted at the Philippine central post office, around 11.00 p.m. local time, last night and at least four people were reportedly injured.

Initial investigation showed, the fire started from the basement of the four-storey building. The blaze was placed on the highest fire alarm level, shortly before 6.00 a.m. local time today.

The fire protection bureau said, the shell of the building remains intact, while firefighters continue to put out the fire completely.

Acting Postmaster General, Luis Carlos, said, commemorative stamps were among the items burned.– NNN-PNA
