TASHKENT, May 5 (NNN-UzA) – Uzbekistan’s central bank, yesterday, decided to keep its key interest rate unchanged at 14 percent, to ensure monetary conditions in the country remain favourable, for a further slowdown in price growth.
The decision was also aimed at “maintaining the positive impact of the policy rate reduction in Mar (this year), on the balancing of aggregate supply and demand,” the central bank said, in a statement.
The bank said, inflation continued to decline in Mar and Apr, and amounted to 11.7 percent and 11.0 percent, respectively, adding that, the forecast range of the year-end inflation rate was left unchanged at 8.5-9.5 percent.
The central bank cut the key interest rate to 14 percent from the previous 15 percent in Mar, 2023.– NNN-UzA
