NEW DELHI, May 4 (NNN-PTI) – Unseasonal snowfall and rains have hit several parts of hills and plains in north India over the past couple of days.
People shut down the air conditioners, since the temperature fell to 19-25 degrees Celsius, after reaching above 40 degrees Celcius just a couple of weeks ago.
Contrary to the normal scorching heat during May-June every year, rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms, lashed parts of north India, including Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Delhi during the past two days.
A fresh spell of rainfall is likely to commence over north-west India from tomorrow, the Indian Meteorological Department said in a press release yesterday.– NNN-PTI
