LIMA, May 4 (NNN-ANDINA) — Prime Minister Alberto Otarola announced that undocumented foreigners will be expelled from Peru in order to confront the wave of citizen insecurity and address the current migratory crisis.

Similarly, he said that foreigners who do not have their documents in order will not be allowed to enter Peruvian territory.

The Cabinet chief explained that the Government is also providing support for those foreigners who work honestly to regularize their situation in the country.

“To face the wave of citizen insecurity and address the immigration crisis, we will expel the undocumented (citizens) from the country, and people who do not have their documents in order will not be allowed to enter (Peru). These are the first measures that we take as a Government,” Otarola expressed via his official Twitter account.

The Prime Minister clarified that this measure is not aimed at any specific group, but rather seeks to protect Peru and confront the current wave of violence

He recalled some cases of compatriots who had lost their lives at the hands of foreigners.

Katherine Gomez was burned to death; municipal police agent Luis Manrique was murdered for confronting crime; Marco Caro was attacked while driving; dentist Christian Quispe was kidnapped and murdered,” Otarola specified.

“For them we take the bull by the horns, because all these crimes were execrable violence and criminal rage, the likes of which had never been seen before in the country. We do not want them to occur once again. We cannot allow one more family to be plunged into mourning over crimes like these,” he noted.

Last week, Pres Dina Boluarte announced agreements adopted by the Council of Ministers referring to citizen and border security, as well as the migratory issue. — NNN-ANDINA
