GARDEZ, Afghanistan, May 3 (NNN-ANA) – At least four commuters were killed and 10 others injured, in a road accident in Afghanistan’s eastern Paktia province, official said, today.
The accident occurred in Halim Kala area, outside provincial capital Gardez city last night, when a car overturned due to technical problems, killing the four people, including two women, on the spot, and injuring 10 others, said provincial administration spokesman, Monib Zadran.
This is the second road accident in Paktia province over the past five days.
A similar road crash in Paktia province injured 13 commuters on Saturday, while a dozen of people have been killed and more than three dozen injured in road accidents since Friday in Afghanistan.
Ramshackle roads, reckless driving on congested roads, and lack of safety measures during travel are mostly blamed for deadly road accidents in the mountainous and war-ravaged country.– NNN-ANA
