Road Crash Killed Six, Injured One In Afghanistan

PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, May 3 (NNN-ANA) – A total of six commuters were killed and another injured, in a road accident in Afghanistan’s northern Baghlan province yesterday, the provincial police office said in a statement.

The deadly accident occurred yesterday, in Khwaja Alwan area, outside provincial capital, Pul-e-Khumri, when a truck collided with a car, leaving six dead on the spot, including a woman and a child, and injuring another, the statement said.

This is the fourth road accident reported in Afghanistan since Friday. A road accident in the northern Takhar province injured nine travellers on Friday.

Last Saturday, 13 travellers were injured as a minibus collided with a car in the eastern Paktia province, while 13 more commuters were wounded in a road accident, in the north-eastern Badakhshan province on Sunday.

Reckless driving on congested roads, and lack of safety measures during travel, are mostly blamed for deadly road accidents in mountainous Afghanistan.– NNN-ANA
