NAIROBI, April 18 (NNN-KBC) — Several students are feared dead following a grisly accident involving a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) and a lorry near Delamare farm along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
An eyewitness said he had counted bodies of six students who were travelling to Nairobi. Schools across the country will close this week for two weeks as the first term ends.
The injured students have been rushed to Naivasha County Hospital. Police are yet to confirm the number of fatalities.
The spate of fatal accidents in recent weeks is worrying.
The crash came barely 24 hours after four people perished at Mau Summit along the Eldoret- Nakuru Highway when the bus they were travelling in rolled.
13 others also had their lives cut short on Saturday night after a bus carrying a group of mourners rolled at the Josa area along the Wundanyi-Mwatate road in Taita Taveta County.
Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome has warned of tough measures to be taken to tame careless driving. — NNN-KBC
