LIMA, April 15 (NNN-ANDINA) — The Government of Peru and the United Nations System, through the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Peru 2022 to 2026, have managed to develop 352 cooperation actions (254 nationwide and 98 at the regional level) valued at US$155 million since 2022, in partnership with the private sector, civil society, and academia.
The information was provided at the Third National Steering Committee Meeting of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2022-2026 made up of representatives of the United Nations, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), and the Peruvian International Cooperation Agency (APCI).
The meeting addressed some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), including Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Reduced Inequalities, and No Poverty.
During the meeting, General Director for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Eugenia Echeverria, explained that various UN agencies, as part of the National Humanitarian Network, worked closely with the Government of Peru to coordinate the emergency response and provide technical and logistical support within the framework of actions against Cyclone Yaku.
Other authorities present at the session included United Nations Resident Coordinator in Peru Igor Garafulic, General Director of Macroeconomic Policy and Fiscal Decentralization at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) Jose Bustamante, Peruvian Diplomatic Service Minister attached to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Oscar Paredes, and APCI Executive Director Jose Antonio Gonzalez Norris. — NNN-ANDINA
