Russian delegation will visit Latin America in 2nd half of April

MOSCOW, April 14 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the visit in the second half of April of a Russian delegation to Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela and Nicaragua.    

“Our relations with many countries in the region, including Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, are developed in the spirit of strategic cooperation and that is where our delegation will go in the second half of April,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

He indicated that Moscow advocates strengthening its cooperation with Latin American countries based on mutual support, as well as solidarity and common interests.

“On the eve of my visit to the Latin American continent, I decided to share with respected readers my thoughts on the prospects for Russian-Latin American relations in the current geopolitical context,” said the diplomat in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo and the Mexican magazine Buzos. .

According to Lavrov, both Russia and Latin America have their own competitive advantages in the context of objective processes of formation of a multipolar world order.

“Let’s make the most of the complementarity of our economies to build comprehensive alliances of design, production and technology, and accelerate the transition to settlement in national currencies and alternatives to the dollar and the euro,” he stressed.
