KINGSTON, April 14 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, and his South African counterpart, Patricia de Lille, met in order to talk about cooperation in this area, digital media published.

Aimed at making tourism a key driver of development for both countries, Jamaica welcomed the potential for collaboration, particularly in this field, which is considered by experts to be an industry that can be socially and economically transformative.

We want to harness tourism for the full benefit of our respective countries. Both Jamaica and South Africa are leaders in sustainable tourism, so together we have many ideas and best practices to share, Bartlett said during the meeting.

South African Airlines, Africa’s leading airline, currently focuses on continental Africa.

However, after the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline intends to re-enter the U.S. and U.K. markets, he said. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
