ISLAMABAD, Apr 9 (NNN-APP) – The total foreign capital inflows from a digital banking channel into Pakistan, by non-resident Pakistanis have topped six billion U.S. dollars, in around two and a half years, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), said.
“We thank our overseas Pakistanis for their continuous trust in making the SBP’s Roshan Digital Account (RDA) a huge success,” the SBP said on its official Twitter account.
Cumulatively, the RDA’s deposit inflows have reached six billion dollars as of Apr 7, official figures showed.
Pakistan received 5.966 billion dollars in foreign currency inflows from its citizens living abroad, through the RDA from Sept, 2020, up till Mar this year, the SBP said.
The RDA is a major initiative of the SBP, in collaboration with commercial banks operating in Pakistan, and came into operation in Sept, 2020.
It provides innovative banking solutions for millions of non-resident Pakistanis, including non-resident Pakistan-origin card holders.– NNN-APP
