Peru: Interior Minister tests positive for COVID-19

LIMA, April 6 (NNN-ANDINA) — Interior Minister Vicente Romero has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), according to the results of tests, which are periodically performed on officials because of the work carried out by them.

The news was confirmed by the Ministry of Interior via its official Twitter account on Wednesday.

According to the post, Minister Romero received all vaccines and is stable, following the health protocols and medical advice.

Similarly, the entity reported that the Cabinet member has started to perform his duties remotely.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that the number of citizens infected with COVID-19 rose to 4,494,371 and the death toll stood at 219,849 in Peru as of April 3.

Within this framework, 256 cases were detected and 9 people passed away due to the virus on the analyzed day.
33,870,516 samples tested negative for COVID-19 —out of a total of 38,364,887.

It must be noted that 4,213,711 people have been discharged and declared healthy. Other 87 were hospitalized. — NNN-ANDINA
