KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysia’s Parliamentary Caucus on Palestine strongly condemns the raid at the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers under the protection of occupation forces.
In a statement Friday, the Caucus said the action not only violated the rights of Palestinians to freedom of religion or belief but also insulted the sensitivities of over 1.5 billion Muslims in the world.
“The indiscriminate use of force by the Israeli regime against the defenceless Palestinians is against all humanitarian and human rights norms and laws,” the statement read.
The Caucus said that by carrying out the illegal raid, Israel had broken its latest promise to respect the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the statement, the Caucus, through its first meeting on Wednesday, called for peace, freedom and justice for the Palestinian people and urged the international community and members of Parliament around the world to take immediate action to stop Israel’s violations.
“Our commitment to the Palestinian cause is unwavering, and we will do our best to ensure that their voices are heard, and their rights are respected,” it said.
It added that the Caucus would also implement several strategies and actions with stakeholders in an effort to champion the rights of Palestinian and for their freedom and justice.
