MANILA, March 30 (Xinhua) — Five people were killed and 13 others seriously injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a cargo truck early Thursday in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said two drivers and three bus passengers were killed in the crash that occurred around 3 a.m. local time in Gitagum town in Misamis Oriental province.
Police said the bus was traveling west to Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province when it collided head-on with the truck loaded with fresh fish, which was heading east to Cagayan de Oro City.
A police investigation was underway to determine the cause of the collision.
