BANGKOK, Mar 24 (NNN-TNA) – Thailand’s auto production increased in Feb, as semiconductor supplies improved, while auto exports climbed, data showed yesterday.
Auto manufacturers produced a total of 165,612 vehicles last month, rising 2.02 percent, month on month, and up 6.39 percent from one year earlier, due to a rise in production for exports, according to the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).
In the first two months of the year, auto production amounted to 327,939 units, up 6.68 percent from one year earlier, Surapong Paisitpattanapong, FTI’s automotive industry club vice president and spokesman, told a news conference.
The country’s car exports climbed 11.42 percent year on year in Feb, after a 24.28-percent increase registered in Jan, according to Surapong.
Domestic auto sales fell 3.94 percent year on year in Feb, but the sales expanded 9.11 percent from the previous month, Surapong said.– NNN-TNA
