Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s new FM
ALGIERS, March 17 (NNN-XINHUA) — Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune appointed a new foreign minister as part of a cabinet reshuffle, the spokesperson for the presidency announced.
Ahmed Attaf was named to replace Ramtane Lamamra as the foreign minister, said the spokesman in a statement. Attaf served as foreign minister in the 1990s and was an ambassador for Algeria to the United Kingdom.
Abdelaziz Khellaf was appointed as minister of state and advisor to the president, and Mohammed Nadir Arbaoui as chief of staff to the presidency.
The last cabinet reshuffle in Algeria was conducted in September 2022 with six ministers replaced. — NNN-XINHUA
