Traffic Accident Claimed 10 Lives In Afghanistan

TALUQAN, Afghanistan, Mar 15 (NNN-ANA) – Ten passengers lost their lives and eight others were injured, as a mini-bus plunged into a ravine, in Afghanistan’s northern Takhar province today, provincial police spokesman, Abdul Mubin Safi, said.

“The deadly road accident took place in Anjir area of Chah Ab district, at 8:00 a.m. local time today, when a mini-bus plunged into a ravine, due to reckless driving,” Safi told reporters, without providing more details.

In a previous accident, which happened in the central Daykundi province, last night, two commuters were killed and 11 others were injured.

Dilapidated roads, lack of safety measures and reckless driving, often claim lives of travellers in the mountainous area of the country.– NNN-ANA
