LIMA, March 14 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola called on the three branches of State and all institutions to come together under the Un solo Punche initiative, in the face of the emergency that the country is experiencing due to heavy rains.
The head of the Ministerial Cabinet gave these statements during his visit to Chosica, where he supervised prevention works in the river basins.
Otarola reported that different functions are being distributed among State ministers to respond to the emergency both in Lima and across the regions.
Moreover, he remarked that the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte will continue to travel across the country in the next few hours to carry out supervision tasks.
“The Government, municipalities, and authorities are prepared and ready to deal with the emergency focusing on a word that is key right now: coordination,” the high-ranking official said.
“And that is what we are doing at the national level. We have made ourselves available to all authorities in order to primarily meet their needs,” he added.
The head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) underscored that its the mayors who lead civil defense efforts and are in charge of emergency care and prevention.
In this regard, the Prime Minister indicated that the Executive Branch is responding to their requests —through the National Institute for Civil Defense (Indeci)— as a matter of priority. — NNN-ANDINA
