ISLAMABAD, Mar 11 (NNN-APP) – At least 14 people were killed yesterday, after a tractor trolley fell into a DG Canal in Dera Ghazi Khan district of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province, the local rescue service reported.
The rescue service said that, the trolley was carrying around 40 to 45 pilgrims, when the accident took place, near Chowki airport road in the district, due to over-speeding.
The rescuers reached the site and started the rescue operation with the help of the local people, said the rescue service, adding that, up to 28 passengers, including some bodies, had been found so far, while a search operation for the missing people was underway.
The rescue service said that, some of the passengers were pinned under the trolley, after it fell down and some of the victims were taken away by the flowing water.– NNN-APP
