India, Australia Signed Pacts On Sports, Audio-Visual Co-Production

NEW DELHI, Mar 11 (NNN-PTI) – India and Australia signed several agreements in New Delhi yesterday, in areas like sports and audio-visual co-production, in the presence of prime ministers Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese.

Albanese is on a three-day visit to India, his first state visit to the country. Both sides also exchanged the terms of reference for the solar task force.

Speaking to journalists along with Modi, the Australian prime minister said, both countries had agreed on an “early conclusion” of the comprehensive economic cooperation agreement, expecting it to be finalised by this year.

“I am hopeful that we will be able to finalise it this year,” said Albanese, after holding bilateral talks with the Indian leadership.

Modi said, “Our teams are working on a comprehensive economic agreement between our two countries.”

The Indian PM also raised the issue of recent attacks on temples in Australia.

“I have seen reports of attacks on temples in Australia. I have conveyed this to PM Albanese, and he has assured me that the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Australia is a priority for them,” said Modi.– NNN-PTI
