KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 (NNN-Bernama) — Nokia, the technology leader across mobile, fixed and cloud networks, remains committed to supporting enterprises in Malaysia in their digital transformation journey and advancing the nation’s Industry 4.0 roadmap throughout 2023.
Managing director for Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Maldives Mohd Rauf Nasir said Malaysia is an extremely important market to Nokia, and the group will continue to focus efforts on helping communication service providers (CSPs) and enterprises throughout the 5G and Industry 4.0 transformation journey.
He highlighted that Nokia’s Technology Vision 2030 have outlined the opportunities in the region’s telecommunications industry, centered around the consumer, enterprise and industrial metaverse.
“While this vision might be in the future, we believe that the world as we know it will be drastically transformed with the line between the digital and physical world blurring, and intelligence will flow seamlessly through everything.
“We will continue to support our enterprise customers by connecting them to the bandwidth, applications and mission critical solutions needed to bring on-demand connectivity, communications, and cloud services to any enterprise sites,” he told Bernama in an exclusive interview, recently.
According to Mohd Rauf, Nokia will also adopt the same strategies across Southeast Asia as it works closely with partners and enterprises in the region.
He said there are numerous exciting opportunities for digitalisation in Southeast Asia, particularly in industries such as factories of the future, energy, ports, and smart manufacturing.
“Leveraging our strong position in 5G, industrial-grade private wireless networks, network infrastructure and enterprise technology solutions, Nokia will continue working with CSPs, partners and enterprise customers to build an ecosystem that supports the adoption of 5G and Industry 4.0 industries,” he added.
Recently, Nokia launched its new logo aimed to create a more dynamic approach to the brand, and to signify a shift in strategy and focus.
Moving forward, Mohd Rauf noted that Nokia has a long-standing commitment to innovation and its solutions have enabled customers to deliver transformative and innovative technology that are paving the way to the 6G and metaverse era.
“The next decade will see an evolution towards 5G-Advanced and 6G to enable significantly higher bandwidths and super-fast data speeds, as well as permitting extremely low latencies, building the platform for the truly immersive reality that the metaverse promises to deliver.
“5G-Advanced will also open up opportunities for market share growth driven by modernisation, new wins, and enterprise growth,” he said.
As the world also becomes increasingly connected and the role of networks in solving global challenges grows, Nokia also aims to be leaders in energy efficiency solutions.
“We have a long-term climate target, divided into Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and has created an overall decarbonisation roadmap to reduce carbon emissions and increase power efficiency,” he added.
