Lebanon Slammed Israel For Airstrike On Syria’s Aleppo Airport

BEIRUT, Mar 8 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, yesterday, condemned the Israeli air raid on Syria’s Aleppo airport.

In a statement, the ministry slammed “the persistent Israeli violation of international law, and the blatant challenge to the most basic moral standards, through its attack on Aleppo International Airport, at a time when the country is still receiving international humanitarian aid, to soothe the effects of the devastating earthquake in Syria.”

This reveals once again the sustainable “aggressive” nature of Israeli policies in the region, it added.

Syria’s state-run SANA news agency reported, “Israeli forces” launched an air raid on the Aleppo airport, in the wee hours of Tuesday (yesterday), damaging its runway and taking it out of service.

It added, the raid interrupted Syria’s efforts to send humanitarian aid to the victims of the powerful earthquakes that jolted large swathes of north-western Syria and southern Türkiye on Feb 6.

There was no comment on the airstrike, from the Israeli side.– NNN-NNA
