NEW DELHI, Mar 5 (NNN-PTI) – The Indian government has given its nod to fertiliser “nano diammonium phosphate (Nano DAP),” to be used by farmers in growing crops, announced Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited’s (IFFCO) Managing Director and CEO, U.S. Awasthi, yesterday.
“I am glad to share that #IFFCONanoDAP is approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, and notified in the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO), based on its encouraging results. IFFCO will manufacture #NanoDAP; a game changer for Indian agriculture & economy,” tweeted Awasthi.
Welcoming the move, the country’s Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, described it as a big achievement towards self-reliance in terms of fertilisers.
He tweeted, “After Nano Urea, the Government of India gives its nod for Nano DAP.”
This move will help the federal government to save foreign exchange. India’s dependence on foreign countries for fertilisers results in spending large sums of foreign exchange.– NNN-PTI
