YANGON, Mar 1 (NNN-MNA) – Football fans will be allowed to enter stadiums in Myanmar, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, an official from the Myanmar National League (MNL) said, yesterday.
“Fans are to be allowed to stadiums for the first time since the pandemic, starting from the league’s week-6 matches,” said U Soe Moe Kyaw, MNL’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), adding that, the league’s week-6 matches will be played at the end of May.
Football matches in Myanmar had been suspended for around two years, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2023 Myanmar National League began in the third week of Feb.
The 2023 Myanmar National League, the 14th season of top-flight domestic football in the country, was organised by the Myanmar Football Federation and the Myanmar National League Committee.
The national league consists of 12 teams, and matches are set to be played at the Thuwunna Stadium and the Yangon United Sports Complex.
The 2023 MNL is scheduled to be held till Oct, this year.– NNN-MNA
