800 Afghan Youth Commissioned To National Army After Military Training

KABUL, Feb 26 (NNN-ANA) – A total of 800 Afghan youth joined the National Army of Afghanistan yesterday, after completing a three-month military training course, a statement by the country’s Defence Ministry, released here, said.

In the graduation ceremony, held here in a military corps, all the 800 youth received their certificates and vowed to serve the country in any circumstances, the statement added.

In his address at the ceremony, Commander of the Military Training Centre, Sheikh Noorul Haq Anwar, described the newly graduated soldiers as Mujahideen (holy warriors) and appreciated their efforts to serve their country in the rank of the national army.

Afghanistan planned to build a 150,000-strong army to defend the country’s boundaries, according to its Defence Ministry Spokesman, Enayatullah Khawarazmi.– NNN-ANA
