PANAMA CITY, Feb 26 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Panama´s Health Ministry (MINSA) on Saturday confirmed 21 new cases of Mpox.
MINSA detailed that, out of 160 accumulated cases (158 men and two women), 28 patients are active cases (20 at-home screening and eight hospitalizations), and 132 recoveries.
MINSA´s report indicated that the new infected people aged 19 to 59.
After confirming the new cases, health teams proceeded with field research to locate close contacts of these people in order to initiate vaccination.
According to MINSA, the regions with highest confirmed cases are the Metropolitan, West Panama, San Miguelito, North Panama and Chiriqui. They are followed by the provinces of Los Santos, Veraguas, East Panama and Bocas del Toro.
The Expanded Vaccination Program, on the other hand, stated that 327 vaccines have been applied up to Feb 23. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
