Pakistani PM Visits Türkiye To Show Solidarity After Deadly Earthquake

ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (NNN-APP) – In wake of the deadly earthquake in Türkiye, Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, undertakes a two-day visit to the country, to show solidarity with, and support, for its people, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said yesterday.

During his visit from yesterday to today, Sharif will meet Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “to personally convey heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire Pakistani nation, over the loss of precious lives and the widespread damage caused by the earthquake,” the ministry said in a statement.

He visited earthquake-affected areas in southern Türkiye, and also interacted with the Pakistani search and rescue teams deployed in the area, as well as, survivors of the earthquake, the statement said.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to stand by the Turkish people, during these difficult times and to continue extending all possible support to the ongoing relief effort, it added.– NNN-APP
