Indonesia’s Trade Balance Recorded Surplus In Jan

JAKARTA, Feb 16 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesia’s trade balance showed a surplus of 3.87 billion U.S. dollars in Jan, posting surplus in a row since May, 2020, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), yesterday.

The trade surplus was driven by a surplus of 5.29 billion dollars from the non-oil and gas sector, offset by a deficit of 1.42 billion dollars in the oil and gas sector, according to the news release by BPS.

Export value in Jan, increased by 16.37 percent, year on year, to 22.31 billion dollars, and import figure, which was 18.44 billion dollars, increased by 1.27 percent, compared with Jan, 2022.

China, the United States and Japan were Indonesia’s top export destinations, for non-oil and gas commodities in Jan, with a combined contribution of 43.64 percent.

Indonesia’s largest trading partners of non-oil and gas imports in Jan were China, Japan and Thailand.– NNN-ANTARA
