LUSAKA, Feb 16 (NNN-XINHUA) — Cholera has continued spreading in Zambia, with two more districts recording cases of infection, health authorities said Wednesday.

The infection of cholera was recorded in Nchelenge district in Luapula Province with two cases, including one death, on Feb 12, while Chipangali district in Eastern Province recorded one case.

Health Minister Sylvia Masebo, however, said the ministry has continued to make efforts including enhancing sensitization programs to ensure that the outbreak does not get out of control.

The country’s cumulative cases of cholera since the outbreak last month has reached 135 following nine new cases reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of deaths has risen to three, according to the health ministry figures. — NNN-XINHUA
