LIMA, Feb 16 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte, joined by Ministers Ana Cecilia Gervasi (Foreign Affairs) and Jose Tello (Justice-Human Rights), met with directors of Amnesty International at the Government Palace in Lima on Wednesday.
The guests delivered a preview of the work carried out on human rights in Peru —in the context of recent demonstrations.
For her part, the Head of State reaffirmed full respect for human rights as well as for peaceful protests. Similarly, the top official said it was ordered that the actions carried out in the face of protests comply with the constitutional framework.
Boluarte also indicated that she awaits the prompt result of the investigations conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office.
In turn, Minister Jose Tello reported that a multi-sector commission has been formed for providing comprehensive support to the victims and the bereaved from recent demonstrations.
Earlier, Boluarte led a new session of the Council of Ministers at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima, on Wednesday. The session was chaired by Prime Minister Alberto Otarola.
This new session saw the participation of various State ministers, some of whom remained in contact with authorities of various Peruvian regions last Tuesday.
Also on Tuesday, President Boluarte convened leaders of political parties to address the political and social crisis that the country is going through.
As reported by the Presidential Office, the situation of Peru in the international context will also be addressed in order to promote a space for dialogue and consensus. — NNN-ANDINA
