Kenya assures support to Mozambique’s fight against terrorism

NAIROBI, Feb 10 (NNN-KBC) — Kenya has assured of the county’s commitment to fully supporting the Republic of Mozambique in the war against terrorism.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr Alfred Mutua revealed Kenya’s unwavering support to Mozambique’s effort to fight against terror after holding a meeting with Jeronimo Chivavi, High Commissioner of the Republic of Mozambique.

“I further assured the High Commissioner of Kenya’s support in the fight against terrorism in Mozambique,” said Dr Mutua.

During the meeting, the two expressed appreciation for the mutual longstanding cordial ties between Kenya and Mozambique.

The two also underscored the importance of the convening of the Second Session of the Kenya-Mozambique Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation and noted that Kenya looks forward to cooperating with Mozambique in various sectors.

The sectors include agriculture, defence, diplomatic training, trade and investment, tourism, bilateral air services, transfer of convicted persons and the blue economy. — NNN-KBC
