PAITA (Piura region, Peru), Feb 3 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte urged political, social, and economic sectors to put aside their differences in order to focus on joining efforts to overcome this difficult moment.
Similarly, she indicated that “it is time to think about Peru” because citizens need social peace and dialogue.
Boluarte participated in the inauguration of the expansion and reinforcement of Paita Port’s breakwater pier in northern Piura region.
Within this framework, the top official indicated that it is necessary to grant stability and governability to the country. Thus, she said, her administration will continue working to attract new investments in projects that enhance productive capacities.
“I want to call on all political, social, and economic sectors of Peru to put aside our differences and focus on working together to overcome this difficult and painful moment that our homeland is going through,” Boluarte expressed.
“Peruvians call for putting an end to confrontation and polarization once and for all; party interests must be put aside; it is time to think about Peru,” she added.
During her speech, the President said the country cannot be plunged into uncertainty and anxiety, but rather that it needs social peace, unity, dialogue, and consensus.
“We cannot work alone; we need the participation of all sectors; we extend our hand to work together for the construction of a society with more opportunities for everyone,” she expressed.
Regarding Paita Port expansion, the President argued that private investment is important because it means the existence of legal certainty and respect for institutions in Peru.
Therefore, she invited entrepreneurs to continue investing in our country —hand-in-hand with the Peruvian State.
“I have the honor of inaugurating this expansion of the Paita breakwater pier, which will boost the growth and development of Piura and the north of the country; as a Government, we continue to bet on greater works like this one,” she emphasized.
Similarly, the top official specified that this expansion will contribute to welcoming larger ships and relying on an adequate infrastructure to serve agro-exporting purposes.
The work consists of a pier 365 meters long and 17.20 meters wide, adjacent to the existing pier. The corresponding investment amounted to US$16.4 million. — NNN-ANDINA
