FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, Jan 25 (NNN-ANA) – A mineworker lost his life in a mudslide, in Afghanistan’s northern Badakhshan province yesterday, provincial director of information and culture, Qari Maazudin Ahmadi said today.
The incident occurred in the Yawan district of the province on Monday afternoon, when some miners were busy digging, killing at least one of them, the official said.
This is the second occurrence of its kind in the same district over the past two weeks.
In the first incident, which occurred on Jan 6, three gold miners were trapped under the debris but were rescued after three days.– NNN-ANA
